The Key to Make Performance Car: Performance Exhaust

Performance car is not a myth.  It is very much a real concept and every car can be turn into a dream machine with right exhaust. These exhausts are superior to the factory fitted exhausts and known as aftermarket exhausts. These exhaust increase the performance of car, motorcycle or any other vehicle and add beauty to the appearance of the vehicle. They also change the sound of the vehicle. Instead of humming sound of engine, aftermarket exhaust voice is a thunderous one.

It has been observed that majority of car or bike owners do not prefer to install performance exhausts at first until the original wears out or is out of order. As these are cost effective and have lesser market price than the original ones, they can also increase the performance of vehicle and fuel economy. The main parts of an aftermarket exhaust consist of headers, catalytic converters, middle pipe, Insulators, glasspacks, silencers or mufflers, resonators and exhaust pipe.
The performance car makers are easy to install. Though, they have seen so many ups and downs, twists and turns to look like present day avatar.  They have gone through many modifications such as until 1990 the factory fitted exhaust systems were made from aluminized or simple steel. In some geographical areas such as some North America regions known as rust belt, these were used to wear out early or failed to deliver after three years. Nowadays, majority of manufacturers prefer to use stainless steel which is durable and rust free. It has increased the life span of exhaust systems.

Installing aftermarket performance exhausts has its pros and cons.  If you install them, you can increase the gas mileage and horsepower.  These are cheaper than the factory fitted parts and there is no harm in installing them if original parts are not available or beyond your budget.  As many Original Equipment Manufacturers or OEMs are still using ordinary or stainless steel, you can without doubt go for aftermarket exhausts. While installing an exhaust, the catalytic convertor is removed or sidestepped which is illegal with emission laws as it results in visible fumes from the outlet.  Also, the noise of engine is increased.

The Handy Guide to Performance Exhausts

If you are wondering what your car would take in return of giving you high mileage and performance, the answer is performance exhaust.   Performance exhausts are also known as after-market or stock exhaust systems.  Comprising four parts namely cylinder head, convertor and turbocharger and silencer, they are structurally different from the factory fitted ones.  The factory fitted exhausts are designed to just drain out the gases. Selecting a suitable and affordable performance exhaust for your car or motorbike can be confusing and troublesome as there are so many brands of repute available such as Remus Exhaust, Magnaflow and many others.

To select a suitable exhaust for your vehicle, you should see to the market reputation of the maker.  For instance you can see their websites and check their credentials.  For instance- Magnaflow exhausts manufacturers are active into this market from long and bring the expertise of 30 years into the automotive tuning.  Secondly, you should know the quality and manufacturing element of exhaust. Nowadays, most of exhausts are made up of stainless steel, aluminum, carbon fiber and titanium. See to it, if the exhausts have high temperature coating on them. This coating has superior endurance power against high temperature.  The third thing you should be wary of is the warranty period of the exhaust system.

Using performance exhaust will turn your ordinary car into a mean machine which would have legal decibel yet roaring and thunderous sound. When you install stock exhaust, it reduces the back pressure which results in increased torque and energy in two stroke and four stroke engines.  Your engine will get greater horsepower and increased fuel economy. With branded and reputed aftermarket systems like Remus Exhausts, Corsa and Borla, your vehicle can surely get the ‘no –drone’ performance with their high end technology, quality and precise systems.

When gas prices are increasing, what could be a better advantage than increased fuel efficiency? It has been observed that performance exhausts amplify the fuel economy by more than 2 percent. Along with it, the under bonnet heat is reduced which eventually increases the power. Also when the amount of heat is reduced by good quality exhausts such as Magnaflow exhausts, the speed of vehicle is increased and heat sensitive machine parts of vehicle are spared from the damage.

Transform your Car into Performance Car with CAI

A car which can shake hand with air and see eye to eye with efficiency as well is the dream of every man. Most of us would love to drive a performance car like this, is not it? Well, a fuel efficient and super speedy car is no more a dream as we are revealing the open but lesser known secret to it.

The secret is proper ventilation. If your car is properly ventilated and getting continuous cool air being gutted into carburetor, it can turn into a performance oriented car.   So, for unremitting ventilation, cold air intakes are necessary.  To lower down the temperature of the air going into the car, this system is used. If the air temperature is low, it increases the internal combustion power of an engine. Besides, adding a beauty appeal to the outward appearance of a car, it changes its usual throaty sound to a more sensuous husky one, so to say!

In simple words, cold air is equivalent to more horsepower to the engine. The systems come in the form of cylindrical air tube. This cylindrical tube allows more cooling of the air than the usual ones. Their installation is extremely easy. You would just need a screwdriver and read the instruction manual. Yes, the way to get a performance car is as easy as that.  If you have been just a little familiar with your car, you just need to replace them with the hot intake system you car has.

It is a common perception that a car draws more fuel with cold air intakes, but this is a partial truth. The beauty of installing cold air intakes lies in the fact that they give an increased horsepower to the engine which means more power, more mileage and more speed. Intakes do not come customized or with one-for-all feature. To know which intakes suit your car best, simply go to a mechanic or visit any auto website. Most of the automotive website have vehicle oriented feature, where you just need to insert the name of your vehicle, and they will recommend the intakes and help you improve the mileage of car.

Aftermarket exhaust parts: Increase the Appeal and Performance of your Vehicle

To have a better understanding of performance exhaust, we need to have a look on the exhaust system of an automobile. To drain the gases like carbon monoxide and other toxic materials away from the vehicle, a chimney like structure is used which is called exhaust pipe.  This is a very noisy process which generates lots of heat, so the gas has to be cooled before it is vent down outside. The gas is passed down to a cylinder head, a turbocharger, a convertor used to reduce air pollution, and a silencer.

The entire exhaust process should be tuned to optimal efficiency otherwise you would not be getting complete mileage or engine of your vehicle would be running out of horsepower. However, replacement of factory fitted components is done for better performance and appeal of the body of vehicle which is known as aftermarket performance exhaust. Completed by reducing the pressure of exhaust system, the diameter of exhaust pipe is increased so that gases can pass quickly. As a result, there is less heaviness in the vehicle and less pressure to move the gases.  Engine works more efficiently and simply increases the performance ration of a vehicle.

Along with it, every part of exhaust system can be manipulated for better performance. The spiral rings of factory fitted exhaust tubing are removed which restricts the path of gases while exhausting them out and replaced with mandrel bent pipe which has same widen diameter. Sometimes people do it to get that desired noise and appeal for their vehicle. Similarly, the sound in the aftermarket mufflers or silencers bounces back for an exaggerating effect. As these aftermarket performance exhausts are widely available with online stores and market dealers, they are less costly than factory fitted exhausts. These provide a specially engineered unique feature to your vehicle.

There are so many exhausts available in market for motorcycles, cars and motor vehicle such as Injen intakes. This is a brand known for their quality and durability. You can find many brands in the market name which manufacturer parts for every vehicle. Though, it is recommended that if you are using a Nissan car, you order performance parts of Nissan only.
